Kabriyah is an eighth grader at CUES who has big plans for her future. After completing the Step-Up program, which provides career exploration, Kabriyah is excited for her next chapter in education. She graduates from Sacred Heart on May 20, 2021 and has a very busy summer planned.
She will be playing basketball for Omaha North and has been accepted into the Nebraska College Preparatory Academy program which provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits.
Kabriyah will begin a summer work experience this May, and she feels confident that she will love it. “I plan to save half of everything I make for college and keep the other half to help my mom with household expenses and to purchase a few summer clothes,” said Kabriyah.
Her most inspirational mentor at Sacred Heart is Ms. Leonard, middle school language arts teacher, who taught her to never give up and to speak her mind. When asked how she liked school she responded, “I love Sacred Heart because we learn to work as a family! Everyone at school both teachers and students alike work together.”
She will strive to excel in basketball in hopes that hard work will get her a spot to play basketball at the WNBA level. Her college ambitions include earning a degree in business administration. She plans to start a non-profit that would offer portable clothing to families in need.
