The CUES Fund is proud to announce the appointment of Marzia Puccioni Shields as its newest leader. Marzia brings a wealth of experience and a transformative leadership style to the organization.
Marzia joins the CUES Fund after a successful tenure as the Chief Development Officer at Heartland Family Service in Omaha. Her previous roles include Senior Director of Development at Creighton University, Regional Vice President of the Arthritis Foundation’s Heartland Region and Executive Director of the Nebraska chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. An immigrant from Italy, Marzia moved to the United States as a child with her parents. Fluent in Italian, she was the first in her family to attend college, fulfilling a dream her parents had for her and her sister. Marzia has two other siblings, who were born in the United States, another sister and a brother.
“Education is a powerful tool that can change a community, change a world,” said Marzia. “I am excited to bring my experience and passion to the CUES Fund, where I believe we can make a lasting impact on education and community development.” Marzia has deep roots in the local community. She and her husband, Jim Shields, have two married daughters, three grandchildren and six beloved “furry” grandkids. Marzia’s leadership at the CUES Fund marks the beginning of a new chapter for the organization, one that promises to build on its strong foundation and expand its reach.
The CUES Fund secures financial support through private donations to fully fund the CUES School System.
