Mitch McCartney

Mitch McCartney was named the Chief Operating Officer for the CUES Fund in April 2025.
Over the past 35 years, Mitch has served in a variety of roles involving public administration, operations, personnel management, operations, communications, and development. His previous positions include Community Relations Operations Director for Heartland Family Service, Annual Gift Officer for Food Bank for the Heartland, Program Director for the Salvation Army Kroc Center, Communications and Development Director for the Nebraska Synod ELCA, and Director of the Unicameral Information Office at the Nebraska Legislature.

Mitch has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and a B.A. in Speech Communications from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
His wife, Jean, is a pastor at Saint Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa. They have a daughter, Maddie, who is attending Creighton University. Mitch’s son (Brian) and daughter-in-law (Brandy) live in North Carolina where they are raising three children.
Mitch currently serves as a member of the national Church Council for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He is also a certified barbecue judge with the Kansas City Barbecue Society and a long-suffering Minnesota Vikings fan.
