February 24, 2022 (OMAHA, NEB) – The CUES School System – comprised of three east Omaha grade schools: Sacred Heart, All Saints and Holy Name, names Terri Bush as chief academic officer. Terri has served the CUES School System since 2018 as principal and assistant principal. Her background includes regional administration for public school districts as well as teaching early childhood and special education.
“I am excited to have Terri’s skills, expertise, and big heart take the lead in our school system! She is already familiar with our mission and the challenges that our students and families face. She is prepared to continue the good work that has preceded her in creating a nationally recognized school system for urban students and to raise the bar of academic achievement along with improved social and emotional well-being,” said Fr. Dave Korth, president of the CUES School System.
In this role, Terri will support and guide the instructional leadership team and academic programs for the CUES School System. Moreover, she will establish standards while implementing best practices, seek professional development for teaching staff, and oversee the growth and development of community programs and partnerships designed to serve CUES students and their families.
“We are in very capable hands, but mostly we will be working with a woman who is completely dedicated to the mission and values of CUES and to the students and adults who work in the schools,” said CUES School System Board of Governor’s chair, Laura McKee Hickman, Ed.D.
Terri received her master’s degree and undergraduate from Iowa State University and has an endorsement in educational administration from the University of Nebraska Omaha. Additionally, she has completed leadership training in Safe Environment, Restorative Practices, and Well Managed Classrooms.
